How Long Does It Take for a Company to Obtain Kosher Certification?

Obtaining kosher certification is a faster process than many might think. In most cases, a company can achieve certification within 15 to 30 days, depending on the type of product, the complexity of the processes, and the availability of documentation.

The process begins with a preliminary evaluation, where it is verified that all ingredients used in the products to be certified are kosher. To do this, the company must request kosher certificates from its suppliers.
If any supplier does not have certification, there are two possible solutions: the supplier can obtain its own kosher certification, or the company can find another supplier that meets kosher requirements.

In some cases, certain raw materials do not require formal certification, but only a technical review of their specification sheets or composition, as long as they do not pose any risk of containing non-kosher ingredients.

Next, an initial visit to the facility is conducted, where a rabbinical auditor evaluates the processes, traceability, production lines, and cleaning procedures. At the end of this visit, a technical report is issued to determine how many times per year additional visits will be required, based on the complexity of the products and operations involved.

Once all conditions are met, the company receives its kosher certificate and may begin using the Aleph Kosher seal on its products — a symbol of quality, transparency, and commitment to international markets. At Aleph Kosher, we accompany each company through every stage of the process, ensuring a certification that is clear, efficient, and tailored to its needs.
